Rajni Gamage

Dr. Rajni Gamage is a Research Fellow at the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore (NUS), and a Visiting Researcher at the Center for South Asian Studies, Gifu Women’s University, Japan (2025–2026). Her research focuses on governance, state transformation, development, and inequality in Sri Lanka. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Queensland, an M.Sc. in International Relations from RSIS, NTU, and a B.Sc. in Political Science from NUS. Her publications address themes including authoritarian populism, elite politics, and Buddhist nationalism in Sri Lanka. She previously worked as a researcher in Colombo and as a senior analyst at RSIS, NTU.
