Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÖZKAN

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özkan is a Professor of International Relations at the Joint War Institute, Turkish National Defence University in Istanbul, and an Executive Board Member of the Turkish Maarif Foundation. He previously served as Executive Director of Maarif Foundation USA in New York, founding Regional Director of TIKA in Colombia, and Director of UTSAM in Turkey. Educated in Turkey, South Africa, Sweden, India, Egypt, and Spain, where he completed his PhD at Sevilla University, his research focuses on the Global South, Turkish foreign and domestic policy, and civil-military relations. He frequently contributes analyses to leading global media outlets.
