Dr. Naveeda Khan is Professor and Chair of the Department of Anthropology at Johns Hopkins University. Her research engages with riverine societies, Islamic thought on nature, migration and memory, global warming and everyday life, human-animal relations, and climate governance, with a particular focus on Bangladesh and Bonn. She earned her BA in History from Vassar College, MA in Anthropology from the New School for Social Research, and PhD in Anthropology from Columbia University. Beyond academia, she has worked with the UNHCR in Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar, BRAC, Travelers and Immigrants Aid of Chicago, and The Field Museum of Natural History.
