Dr. Perween Hasan is an esteemed academic and women's rights advocate serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Central Women's University (CWU) in Dhaka. She earned her PhD in Islamic Architecture from Harvard University in 1984. A former professor at the University of Dhaka's Department of Islamic History and Culture, she has authored significant works, including Sultans and Mosques: The Early Muslim Architecture of Bangladesh. Dr. Hasan has been a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at Oberlin College and a distinguished lecturer at the Victoria and Albert Museum. In 2024, she was honored with the Begum Rokeya Padak for her contributions to education and women's empowerment.
