Dr. Imran Matin

Imran Matin, PhD, is Executive Director of the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) at BRAC University, where he guides strategy, research-policy integration, and institutional partnerships. A development economist trained at the University of Sussex, he previously led BRAC’s Research and Evaluation Division and served as Deputy Executive Director of BRAC International. His global leadership portfolio includes senior roles at Save the Children International and Innovations for Poverty Action, and he currently serves as Country Director for Bangladesh at the International Growth Centre. His research spans microfinance, extreme poverty, social protection, digitization, and governance.
