M. Zakir Hossain Khan

M. Zakir Hossain Khan is the Chief Executive of Change Initiative, a Dhaka-based research think tank driving equity-focused climate governance and sustainable finance. With over two decades of expertise in climate finance, renewable energy, disaster response, and environmental integrity, he has led more than 100 influential reports and academic articles. Mr Khan has held technical roles with Bangladesh’s GCF-NDA, and collaborated with global institutions like SOAS (University of London), UNDP, ADB, World Bank, Transparency International, and others. In 2025, he was appointed Civil Society Active Observer to the World Bank’s Climate Investment Funds, underscoring his leadership in climate justice and inclusive international policymaking.
