Ambassador Nazrul Islam

Ambassador Md. Nazrul Islam is Secretary (East and West) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh. A career diplomat, he joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (Foreign Affairs) in 1995. He has held various key positions, including Ambassador to Bahrain and Qatar, Deputy Permanent Representative to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and Deputy Chief of Mission in Saudi Arabia. He has also served as Director General for Multilateral Economic Affairs and Director for SAARC and BIMSTEC affairs. Dr. Islam holds a PhD in Water Policy and Governance from the University of New England, Australia, and a Master's in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
