Barrister Sara Hossain

Barrister Sara Hossain is a prominent Bangladeshi lawyer practicing in the Supreme Court, specializing in constitutional, public interest, and family law. She is a partner at Dr. Kamal Hossain and Associates and serves pro bono as the Honorary Executive Director of the Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST). Hossain has been instrumental in landmark cases challenging fatwa violence, forced veiling, and the use of the "two-finger test" in sexual assault cases. She co-edited Honour: Crimes, Paradigms and Violence Against Women with Lynn Welchman. In 2016, she received the U.S. State Department's International Women of Courage Award.
