Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque

Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque, Ph.D., is a distinguished environmental economist serving as the Director General of the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) since March 20, 2025. He earned his doctoral degree in Natural Resource Economics and M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Guelph (Canada), and MSS and BSS in Economics from the University of Chittagong. His work spans climate change, natural resource economics, environmental sustainability, agricultural policy, and urban development. Dr. Haque has contributed extensively to research, teaching, and capacity building across South Asia, collaborating with organizations such as the World Bank, IUCN, UNDP, IFC, SANDEE, SANEI, GIZ, and Save the Children.
