Taqbir Huda is a Bangladeshi human rights lawyer and Senior Fellow at the Tech Global Institute, specializing in human rights and technology policy in the Global South. He holds an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice with distinction from the University of Oxford, pursued graduate legal studies at Harvard, and graduated top of his law class at SOAS, University of London. Early in his career, he trained at Chancery Chambers in Dhaka.
From 2022 to 2025, Huda served as Amnesty International’s South Asia Regional Researcher, investigating extrajudicial killings and the suppression of dissent. He previously led advocacy initiatives at BRAC and directed research at BLAST, where his work contributed to reforms of Bangladesh’s Evidence Act in rape trials. A columnist for The Daily Star since 2016, his “Justice in Practice” series explores legal reform and social justice. Known for his advocacy and public commentary, Huda continues to champion accountability and rights-based policies.
