Dr. M. Jashim Uddin is a Bangladeshi academic and international relations expert, serving as Professor and Director of the Center for Peace Studies (CPS) at North South University (NSU). He holds a Ph.D. in International Public Policy from Osaka University, Japan, where he received the top award among all PhD candidates, and earned both a Master of International Public Policy and a Bachelor of Social Science in Political Science from the University of Dhaka.
Dr. Uddin’s research focuses on peace, security, and geopolitics in South Asia, including the Rohingya crisis, Sino-Indian strategic competition, and Bangladesh’s foreign relations with China and Myanmar. His work also addresses national security, governance, and non-violent movements. Prior to NSU, he was a Senior Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS). An active public commentator, Dr. Uddin frequently engages with media, conferences, and seminars, providing insights on regional and global political dynamics and promoting peace education and research in Bangladesh.
